Tests on Hamamatsu Sensors

Latest results on the probing of the sensors. (1st Feb 2000)

The silicon detectors were hand delivered to Fermilab on December 10th 1999. Six detectors (3 wide, 3 narrow) were taken to Liverpool for testing. Here are the results of those first tests (Updated 25.1.00)

Carbon Fibre Cooling Studies

Many different carbon fibre support structures have been made by Peter both at Liverpool and at Fermilab. Anyes and Ronan tested the thermal properties of each, and their results were reported at the video conferences on 16th and 30th November 1999.

Results of Irradiation tests on cables.

We are not able to attend the Video Conference on April 6th, due to the Easter break. However, we present here our recent progress on two issues.

Some Ideas on Cooling Layer00

A report on cooling Layer00 via a thermal shield (Jun 29)

A summary of work prepared for the Padua meeting.

Mechanical Drawings and Photographs shown at the video conference on Tuesday 26th January 1999

A summary of work prepared for the video conference on Tuesday 15th December

  • Silicon Resolution / Pitch Optimisation / Geometry
  • Cable Capacitances
  • Mechanical Designs, Cable Layouts, and a word about Noise

  • A note entitled `Discussion of Some Design Issues for the Layer00 Detector' is now available and summarises some of the work of the Liverpool group. It is hoped that this document will provide a possible starting point for our discussions at FNAL on Nov.23-25th.

Preliminary studies on LOO can be found here.
