RFe$_2$ Thin Films

This section presents analysis of data from a CEMS study of the easy axis direction in thin films (500Å-1000Å) of rare earth/iron intermetallics. CEMS was used as all samples have a thick Sapphire substrate which is opaque to the $14.41\ensuremath{\unskip\,\mathrm{keV}}$ Mössbauer gamma ray. All measurements are taken at room temperature in either $0\ensuremath{\unskip\,\mathrm{kOe}}$ or $2.5\ensuremath{\unskip\,\mathrm{kOe}}$ in plane applied magnetic field. The samples are not $^{57}$Fe enriched.
