Rare Decays at the LHCb: from beauty to strange

by Dr. Francesco Dettori (Liverpool)

Wednesday 15 November 2017 from 15:30 to 16:30 (UTC)
at Chadwick Laboratory ( Barkla )
Description
Rare decays are fundamental indirect probes of physics beyond the Standard
Model. In recent years, several rare beauty hadron decays are showing
anomalies that could be an early sign of new dynamics.
The LHCb experiment is providing world best results in beauty and charm
hadrons rare decays and is recently expanding its physics programme towards
rare strange hadron decays. The status of these rare decay searches at LHCb
is reviewed and recent results are presented. Prospects for future
measurements are also outlined.
