The hunt for SUSY at ATLAS: current status and challenges for Run 2

by Dr. Monica D'Onofrio (University of Liverpool)

Wednesday 11 November 2015 from 14:30 to 15:30 (Europe/London)
at Chadwick Laboratory ( Barkla Lecture Theatre )
Description
The LHC has restarted operations in 2015, and the experiments are efficiently collecting
data at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy since several months. With a wide and
comprehensive program of searches, ATLAS is hunting for Supersymmetry (SUSY), one
of the most compelling theories beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will review the
results of the Run 1 searches and the constraints on SUSY particle masses placed using
8 TeV data, as well as first Run 2 results and the many challenges on the way for discovery.
