Proton structure and hadron collider phenomenology: Standard Model craters and BSM physics

by Dr. Marco Guzzi (University of Manchester)

Wednesday 18 November 2015 from 15:00 to 16:00 (Europe/London)
at Chadwick Laboratory ( Barkla Lecture Theatre )
Description
I will discuss the importance of the knowledge of proton's structure in hadron collider phenomenology and in the context of precision physics for discoveries of Beyond the Standard Model signals at the LHC. I will also discuss recent LHC results in which tensions between the SM theory and experimental data have been observed.
