Production files and info for kapton cables to connect velo hybrid to adapter
PCB
These are approx 300mm long double sided cables fabricated on 100um kapton.
There are two designs, one for power and control signals and readout lines
from four chips. The other provides readout from the remaining 12 chips
on the hybrid. Each cable has a male and a female 100 pin FCI Bergstack
connector. Note that the cables are not physically or electrically reversible
because one end has a male connector and the other a female. however the
connectors can be mounted at either end so care must be taken when mounting
the connectors - see pinout and arrangement diagrams. Note also that when
the two cables have connectors mounted on them they are physically interchangeable
BUT NOT ELECTRICALLY so take care not to plug them into the wrong connector
on the hybrid - this could lead to permanent damage of the hybrid and/or
cables and/or other parts of the system. To allow tests with longer lengths
of cable the cables may be daisy chained.
The conductors are designed to give 50 Ohm impedance on single
ended CMos level control lines, 100 Ohm impedance on differential clock
and trigger lines and 75 Ohm single ended impedance on the analog readout
lines. Note these are nominal values for bare traces and they may reduce
depending upon the thickness and dielectric constant of the protective
solder mask applied.
