Facilities - Evaporative Cooling Area

This area houses the evaporative cooling system that will be used to cool the SCT disks. The cooling rig will circulate liquid C3F8 into the enivironmental chamber, where the transition into its gaseous state will remove the heat generated by the powered modules. The returning C3F8 vapour is passed through a compressor and condensor to be changed back into a liquid.

An autoclave for high temperature work (including carbon fibre molding) is also kept in this room.
