Facilities - Environmental Chamber

The environmental chamber is a 4.5 x 3.5 x 4m room whose temperature can be set between -20 and +60 degrees Celsius. When working modules are assembled onto the SCT endcaps, they will be tested as a complete disk in this chamber. The chamber will be cooled to -20C and the heat produced by the powered modules removed by an evaporative cooling system housed in the adjacent semi-clean area. The modules will be controlled and read out by electronics in the assembly area.
