Facilities - LSDC ConstructionConstruction of the Liverpool Semiconductor Detector Centre began in August, 2000, with the removal of the existing partitioning on the ground floor of the Oliver Lodge laboratory.
August 2000: Removing the partitioning from the Oliver Lodge laboratory.Work then commenced on building the 450m^2 of clean areas.
March 2001: Class 100 area under construction, and the ventilation system above.The function of the clean areas was made possible by three air handling units in the ceiling space above the rooms.

Summer 2001: Lobby and Class 10000 area.
Autumn 2001: The Class 100 area, completed and awaiting installation of equipment.The Liverpool Semiconductor Detector Centre was officially opened on the 11th of September, 2003, by Chief Scientific Adviser Sir David King.
