Liverpool Energy Day, Tuesday 23rd June 2009

Thornton Room, Foresight Centre, Liverpool University

Aim of the Energy Day

The purpose of the day is to bring together people in the University whose research is related to Energy and Climate Change. The topics under investigation in Liverpool range from the effects of increasing CO2 levels on the climate through the social and economic impact of oil depletion to accelerators that may be suitable for driving thorium-based sub-critical fission reactors. The aim of the Day is to identify possible new or existing directions for research which could be strengthened through the formation of new collaborations, within and outside the University, and through additional funding from the University and from external agencies. A further possibility that will be discussed is the establishment of a taught postgraduate programme in this area.
