This area is very touristy on the coast, with small overcrowded beaches in summer. These beaches are run privately, which means you have to pay real money for the privilege of accessing the shore! The dear money you pay allow you a couple of square meter of space (just enough for your long chair and the beach umbrella) among the rest of the crowd. Nonetheless Liguria is beautiful, especially the inland, which is very mountainous and peppered with colourful small villages. It is a land full of character and beautiful views, and tasty food to go with. You can find better deals inland. I list here a few places.
