Dear all,
following the exchange we had with Graziano, Paolo Gauzzi and Antonio Di Domenico, an update for everyone regarding KLOE's old library.
Fabio recently had back surgery, and the key issue - and the priority in absolute terms - is his health. Fabio will probably not be able to return to the laboratory for another couple of weeks or so.
Fabio's return is necessary, as he is the only person with the skills - both hardware and software - required by the library, especially in case of failures and problems. When he returns, however, he needs to be supported by another person. Such support is requested 'in a loud voice' by Antonio, Paolo and Graziano, insisting to the laboratories, supporting KLOE (in spite of and in view of the other ongoing projects in Frascati).
In this perspective, one must also think - the Frascati laboratories, and possibly the Liverpool group - of a more long-term investment, with other people accompanying Fabio. This is also very important in the event that all data is copied to the new library.
For now, the point is: let's wish Fabio a speedy and complete recovery (the most important thing) and wait a couple of weeks. In the meantime, it would be very useful to reflect on everything we already have, in terms of data and Monte Carlo (2004-2005), and document it well.
As far as producing a new Monte Carlo is concerned, I think we still need the data from the old library, because of the conditions and background in the runs.
Graziano, Paolo add more information if you think it is necessary.
Have a good weekend everyone,
Paolo
