Recent progress in silicon technologies is bringing to life a new generation of instrumentation that is changing ways of doing science. In particular, fast imaging with a nanosecond scale time resolution, sensitive to single particles (ions, electrons, photons etc) turned out to be very useful in many areas, from chemistry to quantum information science. I will review recent developments in fast imaging using TimepixCam, an optical imager with time stamping, and will show some examples of applications from the ion imaging to imaging of entangled photons in QIS. |
