Description |
The high mass and short lifetime of the top quark makes it a unique probe of the Standard Model and a compelling avenue in the search for new physics. The top quark physics program at the LHC has matured from fledgeling first cross-section measurements in 2010, to precision results that now dominate the field in almost all aspects and channels today. In this seminar the most current results from the ATLAS collaboration will be presented, some of which are world-first measurements. Highlights will include measurements of the (in)famous charge asymmetry, the top quark mass and it’s interpretation, spin correlation in ttbar events and much more! Finally, prospects and expected sensitivity for top physics at the high lumi LHC will also be discussed.
