Quark Flavour Physics and Rare Decays

by Dr. Martin Gorbahn (University of Liverpool)

Wednesday 28 May 2014 from 14:30 to 15:30 (Europe/London)
at Oliver Lodge Laboratory ( 1-3-337 - 337 Seminar Room )
Description
In this talk I will introduce the flavour sector of the standard model and emphasis the role of rare decays as precision tests of the standard model. By comparing theory predictions with experimental data we can constrain the parameter space of various physics beyond the standard model. I will discuss how an improved theory prediction increases the sensitivity to new physics at the example of rare B and K decays.
