From Manchester Airport to Greenbank Conference Centre

I. BY CAR:

M56 west (Liverpool, Chester) ca. 20 mins.

M56 exit 12 onto A557 (toward Runcorn and Liverpool Airport)

Follow A 557 to, and drive over, Runcorn Bridge ca. 10 mins. This road turns into A 562 towards Liverpool Airport

Stay on A 562, which turns into A 561, until you turn RIGHT onto A 5058-Ashfield Road. You will pass the entry to Liverpool Airport and the suburbs of Speke and then Garston on the way (ca.15 mins).

Follow Ashfield Road which becomes Victoria Road, then Aigburth Vale, then Queens Drive

Turn LEFT off Queens Drive onto NORTH MOSSLEY HILL ROAD

The Greenbank Conference Centre, Derby and Rathbone Halls is on LEFT (after Ibbotsons Lane)

II. BY TRAIN:

Manchester Airport station: train to Manchester Piccadilly (ca. 20 mins.)
Connect with train to Liverpool Lime Street (ca. 40 mins)

NOTE: On purchasing ticket at Manchester Airport ask for time of next train(s); some trains are direct Manchester Airport to Liverpool Lime Street but tend to be slower (ca. 90 mins) and less frequent, than changing trains at Manchester Piccadilly.

At Liverpool Lime Street take a taxi to: Greenbank Conference Centre, North Mossley Hill Road

III. BY TAXI:

Reserve a taxi IN ADVANCE (before takeoff) from ``Cy's Cars'' ( phone +44 151 728 7411 or mobile +44 4678 12258)

It is possible to get a taxi from Manchester Airport on arrival, however this will be much more expensive (£ 60. Ca) than ordering one, as above, in advance.

From Liverpool John Lennon Airport or Liverpool Lime Street train station

Take a taxi to Greenbank Conference Centre, North Mossley Hill Road

The Hotels and the conference venue

The conference venue (Greenbank Conference Park) and the suggested hotels are all around Liverpool's Sefton Park, shown in the map above. The locations marked are:

Conference venue (red square, Greenbank Road)

Park Lane Hotel (red cirlce)

The walk from Hotel Solna (on Mossley Hill Drive, left on Greenbak Lane, right on Greenbank Road) to the conference venue is exactly 1 mile. Hotel Alicia is very close to Solna (300 metres). The distance from Park Lane Hotel to the conference venue is 1.7 miles (on Aigbourth Drive to Solna, then as described above). One can use the walking paths through the centre of Sefton Park, bringing the distance down to 1 mile.

A number of restaurants and pubs on Lark Lane (marked with the blue line on the map) offer a good choice of food (including Italian, French, Greek) within walking distance of the hotels.

The hotel receptionists can arrange private hire taxis if needed. They usually charge less than the traditional "black cabs". One such company which offers minimum waiting times can be reached on 9247373.
