Paul's Website

A lot of people have been here and so have I now. Really.

Who am I?

My name is Paul Laycock. Hello. This is a bad web page. Sorry about that but I've only just found that this little file can be found and explored in depth. Well I guess that "depth" is a little inappropriate but still; anyway, time to play Where's Wally...

I solemnly swear to make a better page in a month or so *. Including pictures and stuff, you know the sort of stuff people generally put on their pages. Funky stuff as well. Funny how people with crap web pages always say that, eh ? How I pity them ...
* A year later and I still haven't made a better page. All I need now is one of those crap UNDER CONSTRUCTION pictures.

Links !!!!

I do feel compelled to put at least something of use on this page ...
A good Train Journey Planner ... is here
If you're a good-natured person you probably don't search random web-pages, but just on the off-chance you REALLY should visit The Hunger Site and The Rainforest Site to donate food and trees for free ! Add them to your bookmarks while you're at it.
Now that you're feeling sufficiently pleased with yourself, it's time for a reward ... if you're male that is ... Beginners should consult the FHM before testing their newly acquired prowess at The Babe Test.

Anyway, work you say ? I'm a second year PhD student studying Particle Physics and I live in Hamburg, instead of Liverpool, which I am adapting to quite well. My only second year colleague is Richy Boy Sloane who has an equally dull web page.

Non-physics stuff

There is nothing in this section as I only like physics. Actually I would have chatted about the drama society, but seeing as how I didn't get a part this year they can wait. The funny thing is though that the only part I did get (last year) was playing a German... Actually, that's not funny at all, but it's best to talk about these things.

Instead of anything interesting then, here's a picture of me doing what I do best.

I was at the Cern Summer School (1999). I learnt a lot. Not least a valuable lesson about telling a hardened drinker from Aberdeen that you haven't been sick in a while.
That's me on the right by the way, for the uninitiated.

I'm now haunting DESY which is over in Hamburg in Germany, so therefore here's a picture of me in Amsterdam with my big brother and some random people who wanted their picture taken with me.

Physics stuff

Physics is my life. I like physics and physics likes me.

Just in case you're still reading at this point, I'm in the Liverpool H1 group

Liverpool H1

working on using Java to control stuff. Sorry for the technical jargon.

Funky Work

If physics didn't like me I don't know what I'd do.

Well probably not much actually. I could improve this page I suppose. I mean you'd think that if I'm learning java that I'd have something a little bit funky wouldn't you...

A Funky Java applet would appear here if you only had Java...

Naaaahhh...
