the group is working on three generations of the LHCb vertex detector
- The original VELO collecting data at CERN. Information on how this is built can be found here
- The replacement of the VELO with an almost identical detector that will enable LHCb to operate for many years
- Studies on possible new detector that will allow LHCb to take data at a high rate. survive higher radiation doses and provide a Level-0 displaced vertex trigger.
