Nearest Airports:

Liverpool John Lennon (Easyjet, Ryanair), Manchester Airport(Most major carriers)

Liverpool is served by buses, but the easiest is to get a taxi. Cost approximately £15.00 each way. It is a 25 minute taxi ride from Liverpool Airport. From Manchester airport the most convenient form of public transport is train to "Liverpool Lime St. Station". Expect to pay approx £20 return, the journey takes about 1h 15m, and you sometimes have to change in Manchester.

University of Liverpool

The Oliver Lodge Laboratory is on Oxford St http://www.liv.ac.uk/maps/precinctplan.htm building 48 next to the disabled sign in the top right hand corner. For those of you with GPS

On the Google Map is shown the entrance to the Oliver Lodge, Oxford St next to Abercromby Square (for taxi instructions) and a visitor Parking if you have a car.

Hotels:

For those of you travelling from afar we would recommend the Holiday Inn Express on the Albert Dock. There are also Ibis and Campanile. For an authentic experience you can try the Adelphi Hotel, although you must ask for the University of Liverpool rate when booking.

The best, and most expensive, hotel close to the Department is the Hope St. Hotel adjecent to the Philharmonic Pub and concert hall.

The Adelphi and Hope St. hotel are within walking distance. The others require a taxi ride ~ £5.00
