Particle Physics

Welcome to the home page of the Experim ental Particle Physics Group at the University of Liverpool.

About the Group:
The group conducts experiments into the fundamental laws and building blocks of matter. You can find out more about Particle Physics in general from this introduction and about the groups strategy towards making fundamental measurements and discoveries.

We are one of the largest groups in the UK with over 50 staff members. The physics programme of research is conducted at national and international research facilities on 3 continents. The group has access to exceptional facilities including the Liverpool Semiconductor Detector Centre. and large scale high performance computing.

The groups activities are funded by the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC ), the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE ). The group also collaborates with industry on detector development.

If you want to fund out more about studying or working with the group please follow the links or contact us.
