Tim Greenshaw

The TeV Universe, Liverpool, 28th January 2010

Programme

0 The field of very high energy gamma ray astronomy has developed rapidly in the last decade or so, driven largely by observations made using arrays of imaging Cherenkov telescopes. These have proven to be extremely powerful instruments for the investigation of the universe at energies up to many TeV. Recent very high energy gamma ray observations will be presented and discussed in the context of Dark Matter searches, Gamma Ray Bursts, cosmic accelerators and other astrophysical concepts and phenomena. Prospects for the Cherenkov Telescope Array, a planned future gamma ray observatory with a sensitivity an order of magnitude greater than current instruments will be presented.

0 Agenda 28/01/10 (with links to the slides shown during the talks).

0 On the 29/01/10, there will be a meeting of the UK-CTA group. Those interested in the CTA are welcome to attend.
